nikgomez.com has been run/edited/published/designed/maintained by me (Nik Gomez) since March 26th, 2007, but I've been doing web design (in some way/shape/form) for about 8 years. I am a freshman at USC majoring in computer science & business administration (CSBA). Having lived in small town Fallbrook, California for over eight years has kindled a certain need to live in a city for a while. Los Angeles is looking like quite the choice piece of land for the next 4+ years of my life, and it doesn’t hurt that LA has an amazing music scene…

In response to the comments that Phantom Pt. I is a plain ripoff, I must politely disagree. I had heard the sample off of Tenebre, and they are admittedly very similar, and after all, Justice did sample the exact track w/o anything but time chops. But I feel that Justice did way more with the sample than the original had done. The beats, the chops, and the choreography of it all come together perfectly. I still love this song.

Are you sure that you've heard the original goblin track that phantoms based around? So much of the original songs left intact it's insane. here's a side by side comparision - http://www.atouchofclassusa.com/ripp-off.html -
Sure Justices structure's a lot more 4otf, but the original track was for a soundtrack. they left the soul structure intact, and all melodies/beats completely unchanged. In Fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the idea for phantom didn't arise from hearing alternative versions, remixs and reprises, of goblin tracks that goblin made themselves. On several occasions they'd do a cut for the film and then a more trad' one to be listened to. If you're going to cut this close to the original, just call it a remix, and pay the suits; it might cost you, but you'll at least keep your cred.

Yop
Your comments really rules even though I think DVNO is this a very good song for its bassline and overwhelming sound. I love it.
To me the best of this album is Phantom II
