I really should've done this a long time ago but I just wanted to say that the first band that played that night was actually Bad Parents. Disaster, who is just Brendan Fowler of Barr, cancelled. They're very different from each other. Disaster is more like performance art with song samples he makes up and toys with on the spot. You should definitely check him out, especially as Barr. It's good stuff. I'm glad to hear you had a good time. You came on a very interesting night. Seriously, I've never seen that much drama at the Smell what with that one guy trying to start a fight and getting kicked out. Also, it's definitely a bitch when you don't live near any of the 24-hour buses' stops. I live in the east side of "the Valley" so there's not much bus action here after 12am. But, if I ever find myself stranded downtown, I have a back-up plan: I ride the 24-hour 4 bus (which I can catch on Broadway and 3rd St. from the Smell) back and forth until my bus for home starts running again. I've only done it once and it was one of the more interesting bus rides I'd ever taken AND I didn't have to just stand around downtown practically waiting to get in harm's way. Hello.
